3/24/2023 0 Comments Battletech phoenix hawk![]() ![]() This is brutally effective at coring out opponents, and reaches its peak with the later Grasshopper heavy mech the Phoenix Hawk can't match the Grasshopper's alpha capacity or survivability, but can move faster, farther, and sooner in the initiative order. Its bonus to damage after jumping strongly encourages it to be used in this manner: jumping behind an enemy and unleashing a full alpha strike on their weaker rear armor, before jumping away to cool down. Don't you mean sprinting, because if you want to fire afterwards you'll get four in most cases and reliably (crossing slowing terrain) just three pips. The raw damage capability of that COIL more than offsets the jump bonus. The Phoenix Hawk can be thought of as a direct upgrade to the Spider which the campaign starts with, and a proper introduction to "jumpjet backstab" gameplay. The Phoenix is one of the few mechs that can reliably get to 5 bars of evasion running, sometimes six.Savvy MechWarriors take advantage of this ‘Mech’s jump capability to land timely shots and then reposition to another vantage point. Sadly, its heat build-up is also noteworthy. Yang's Thoughts: The PXH-1 is one of the most elegant and agile ‘Mechs around, boasting good armor and decent weapons.Dropping the Large Laser will be necessary to get full armor on the 'mech - replacing this with a third Medium Laser will reduce its flexibility but increase its survivability. With only 7-odd tons of space at max armor, the Phoenix Hawk's potential loadouts are sharply limited. The Vectored Thrust Kit function as jump jets in addition to providing 10% increased jump distance as well as 10% increased attack damage after jumping, combining the two should give a total of 20% increased jump distance and 20% increased damage after jumping. The Phoenix Hawk PXH-1 can equip six jump jets and has a total of two Vectored Thrust Kits, one mounted on the right and left torsos. Its structural hit points and armor are equivalent to the Blackjack BJ-1 and Vindicator VND-1AA, 376 structure and 945 armor at full. The PXH-1 is a 45 ton medium mech that has 7.19 tons available after full armor or 19 tons with no armor. Its built-in Vectored Thrust Kits make clear its purpose as a specialized jump machine - just be careful of that heat buildup. Mobile and agile, the Phoenix Hawk is a dangerous machine that can easily run white-hot with all of its energy weapons and jump-jets. Matchbox was later purchased by Mattel, who remain a main competitor to Hasbro today, while Playmates remains an independent company and rival to both Hasbro and Mattel. The Phoenix Hawk PXH-1 is a Medium-class 'Mech in Battletech: Heavy Metal. Later, Playmates produced the Robotech/Exosquad crossover toys in the 90's. Takatoku Toys made the Macross toys Hasbro licensed for Jetfire, while Matchbox produced the Robotech toys in the 80's. It was dismissed with prejudice, meaning Harmony Gold could no longer bring legal action against Hasbro over that or any future Jetfire toys, and some (including myself) see this as one of the pivotal points in Harmony Gold's loss of their questionable claim over the Macross designs allowing for the BattleTech renaissance with new re-seen we're enjoying today.Įdit: Also, Hasbro did not make Macross or Robotech toys. ![]() Joe/Transformers crossover Jetfire toy proved to be the last. However, the lawsuit Harmony Gold filed against Hasbro over the G.I. We also know that for a while, all red-with-white deco Jetfires turning into anything resembling a VF-1S/F-14 Tomcat had to go through an approval process with legal teams before getting greenlit. While no one outside the Harmony Gold and Hasbro legal teams knows the details for sure, we do know that Jetfire was phased out from the T.V. ![]()
